So thanks to all the hype and chatter I couldn't resist the temptation........Glad I couldn't!

Its not a top tier 1911, but for a pistol at its price point it is surprisingly tight and Ruger has added most of the bells and whistles to make all but the most picky happy. My one complaint was the black front sight that just doesn't work for my eyes. I remedied that with a Dawson Ruger specific fiber optic 200T/125W rampted(required minimal fitting). The pistol has enough weight to make the 10mm cartridge manageable and really is a kick (no pun intended) to shoot with its decent trigger. My initial break in of a couple hundred rounds of 180 grn fmj and jhp's resulted in no feed, fire or ejection issues. I think the accuracy potential is there given initial results, reloads to follow.
Ok, other than its trigger it can't do anything that my Glock 20 won't do better, but its a 1911, what's not to like?

Love mine, 350 rounds through it so far and it keeps getting better. It is a nice, relatively inexpensive to reload for hammer on the 1911 platform.

I got one little over a week ago great Pistols .. but watch for rust .. i found some creeping under safety on the slide .. that was after lubing it 3 times during 5 days of carry .. i was out running the chainsaw and a splitter and it was super hot and yes sweaty but still was surprised none of the other stainless i have carried this way have done it .. carried my dan wesson 3 more days also in 10 mm no rust ..

Have had mine for 3 weeks now, spent a wet weekend in the woods with no issues at all. I believe it has something to do with the the elements within the steel. I have several Ruger stainless guns, that have withstood years of abuse from the elements, but I will say their 1911s are the only ones I have heard of having this issue. Sorry for your trouble Bud. I will say that I love mine, 180gr heavy clad concave base bullets from X-treme over Power Pistol is an awesome combination! Picked up 3 9 round Wilson Combat Magazines during a recent sale, they also perform flawlessly.

I bought one over a month ago on a sale at a LGS. It was $729 and I couldn't resist. So far it has been nice with different factory ammo and reloads. I can see putting different grips on in the future although the rubber ones work great.

These are really nice and handle really well. I have shot 135gr through 200gr with mine and no malfunctions.

I bought mine the day they were announced. I think I was the second person to click the button on gunbroker. I overpaid about $50, which I knew I was doing at the time.

Since then I have put about 500 rounds down the pipe split between mostly 180 grain XTP or HST jacketed bullets and 180 or 200 grain cast bullets. It has never hiccuped once no matter what I feed it.

I get that Ruger meant this more as a range or hunting gun, but I carry my 10's, and as such I do wish it had better suited sights. I tried out some fixed sight replacements for a Bomar cut from Harrison Design. The locked in tight, but the were about .125" short of the cut in the front and hung over the back about a the same. I ended up putting the Ruger sights back on.

Overall, a nice addition to the 1911 10mm's in the safe.

I just picked one up New in Box for $700. Only got to put a couple mags through it so far. Surprised by the lack of recoil on the heaviest rounds I could find so far which are Sig Sauer 180 at 1250. Nice gun overall. This is my second 10mm, the first was a Delta Elite. I have plenty of 1911s that I carry, mostly 4 inch guns, so I don't need to carry this one but I want to. As soon as I get a good holster for it, it will see some time on my hip. While I do like the fully adjustable target sights on it, I will probably put at least a fiber optic front sight on it for faster aquisition.

I did put some stocks I bought off of shopruger.com years ago on mine. Ruger called them Delta grips and I told myself if they ever made a 10mm then those were the grips for it. Also I took my SR1911 in 45ACP out to the range with it a couple weeks ago and a shooty buddy and I shot rounds through the 45 and then through the 10mm. Stayed with factory ammo but my friend bought CCI Blazer in both 45 and 10mm and I had Federal, PMC, and a couple other brands in both 45 and 10mm. The 10mm seems to have about as much recoil as the 45 but then it is about 2.5 ounces heavier. When we were doing this the rubber grips were still on the 10mm and I had another set of rubber grips I put on the 45 so at least the grip "experience" was the same on both pistols.
