    New from Wrangell Alaska

Name is Will and starting to get old 69. Lived in Michigan,Texas and Alaska. Had to quit gunsmithing some years back due to tremors in my hands working on small things. At this time a Hi power is what I have and may end up needing it for all my Alaska duties as my 44mag is getting tuff on my wrist. Its only been a few years sense I quit the 454 and went back to the 44. Wrangell is a small island and we only get the basic ammo. Right now my bear protection ammo is Blazzer Brass 147gr tmj tc. Not the best but at twenty yards rapid fire its 3" or under groups so a few shots at 20' should at least turn a bear for more shots. Old enough to remember Willson becoming a new guy on the 1911 scene. Well in the Marines in 65 so Jeff Copper is still my man on the 45. Time for me to check this joint out.

Welcome to the forum! HPs are great pistols. I started with one and now I have 10 different variants. Jeff Cooper, he was definitely the man when it came to shooting.
Like someone's grandpa used to say "I can sit here quietly and let everyone think I'm stupid, or I can say something and confirm it for them."

Hi and welcome to our forum from Northern Italy.

Collectible "M1911s GI", full size "SIG Sauers" and "CZ sport pistols" have always been among my favourite guns.
For the range I have owned many different firearms, from bolt action rifles that I still shoot at the range to AKs, from high end "slabsides" to CZs and SIG Sauers; to me nothing like how the CZ fits in your hand, but the P226s are stellar guns that run like clockwork, especially the older West German proofed ones; if one is looking for out-of-the-box accuracy, reliability, and craftsmanship the Sig-Sauer P226 can hardly be beaten.
I collected firearms for years, until I realized that an ever-taller pile of unneeded guns made my life no happier, so recently I decided to thin my collection and enjoy more what I already owned.
After about 39 years of guns-ownership and thousands of rounds of ammunition I have been reloading over the years, I still love shooting at the range every single week.

JMO this is one of the best gun forums among the several I belong to, to me it's quite a learning experience, I hope you'll enjoy your time here.
    Safe shooting.
    Sergio
Before you start collecting 1911s .... buy books! Don't collect something that you'll be forever making excuses for, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, and buy the gun not the story.
