Hi and welcome to our forum from Northern Italy.

Collectible "M1911s GI", full size "SIG Sauers" and "CZ sport pistols" have always been among my favourite guns.
For the range I have owned many different firearms, from bolt action rifles to AKs, from high end 1911s to CZs and SIG Sauers; to me nothing like how the CZ fits in your hand, but the P226s are all stellar guns that run like clockwork especially the older West German proofed ones; if one is looking for out-of-the-box accuracy, reliability, and craftsmanship the Sig-Sauer P226 can't be beaten.
I collected for years, until I realized that an ever-taller pile of unneeded guns made my life no happier, so recently I decided to thin my collection and enjoy more what I already owned.
After about 39 years of guns-ownership and thousands of rounds of ammunition I have been reloading over the years, I still love shooting at the range every single week.
JMO this is one of the best gun forums among the several I belong to, to me it's quite a learning experience, I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

    Safe shooting.
    Sergio
Before you start collecting 1911s .... buy books! Don't collect something that you'll be forever making excuses for, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, and buy the gun not the story.

Welcome to the forum. Plenty of nice Ithaca's out there if you are patient and keep looking for the right one at the right price. I'm waiting for that just right Pre-46 USGI Colt myself. Good luck!
Like someone's grandpa used to say "I can sit here quietly and let everyone think I'm stupid, or I can say something and confirm it for them."
