    Desert Eagles

What do people here think of Desert Eagle 1911's? I saw a Commander sized DE in the LGS a while back, used, at about 550. I did not move on it, but it sure looked like a fun 45 to go back a few years, when it was still fun- no demtards and such, and it was not series 80 style. Are these quality products? I've heard about soft steel-slide lock battering perhaps. Anyone here have any problems with theirs? I'd still be interested in one if I could find one at a good price. Any input? Thanks, JT.

As far as I know, they are (or were) made in Israel by Bul Transmark, and last I knew they were considered to be very good pistols.

I've never seen one in person, though.

I have the stainless version. Excellent trigger and highly accurate. I will be using it in a bowling pin match this weekend.
