I remember Colt being accused of selling us out when they changed the pin dimensions of their ARs, to make them less easy to convert to full-auto, in hopes of keeping gun control advocates at bay.
Olympic Arms got flak for chambering an AR pistol in 7.62x39, allowing the government to ban cheap ammo as "armor piercing" because it had become "pistol ammo".
S&W cut a deal to avoid prosecution and get preferential treatment in government contracts by installing locks in their revolvers.
    And so it goes.

But none of those actions involved engaging a professional lobbyist whose apparent job was to allow an anti-gun law to pass as long as the two major players paying his salary got an exemption from the law.

A month later.....I forgot to mention the company President come across as a used car salesman with crocodile tears. Which is why I didn't inquire about him. Happy Independence day, to all.

The involvement of SA in this wasn't the deciding factor in my last gun purchases, but it has a lingering influence in those choices
