Yes, there was, but John came to a two-pronged realization:

    1. There was a lot of confusion between rimfire conversions, centerfire conversions, and just plain old, do-it-yourself parts guns; and

    2. The conversions discussion area just didn't get a lot of traffic.

So, as a result, he reorganized things a bit. From the description of the Rimfire discussion area, on the forum index page:

    Rimfire Corner

As of May of 2011, discussion of ALL 1911-style rimfire pistols and rimfire conversion kits should be discussed here, except the Colt Ace and Service Ace pistols and conversion kits, which should be discussed in the Collectors area.
This now includes complete rimfire pistols of all makes, as well as rimfire conversion kits.

I checked but, didn't see a Collectors forum but, did see one called "Commercial Colt Government Model, Ace, SM Ace, Super .38 and Commander pistols". Is this the correct forum for these discussions?

If your conversion is made by Colt, then yes, otherwise it's the Rimfire Corner.

There isn't "a" Collectors' forum. There is a subsection of the forum called the Collectors Corner that includes four different discussion areas pertaining to collectors. One of these is the "Commercial Colt Government Model, Ace, SM Ace, Super .38 and Commander pistols" discussion area. As Spyros already mentioned, if your conversion is one of the Colt conversions mentioned in the description of that discussion area, that's the place. All discussion of all other rimfire conversions belongs in the rimfire discussion area.
