Looking for help identifying 1911 with right side frame marking "Schlacht B"
Do you have any photos?
What information do you have? Is this a pistol for sale, or in a collection somewhere? Where is it located? Is it a Colt, Remington-Rand, Ithaca? M1911 or M1911A1?

Not for sale. My brother has it. I have a couple of poor pics but don't know to post them. I know little about 1911's but thought with the help of the more educated here I may be able to learn something. I just would like to know what it might be. Serial number doesn't match anything I have seen.
"Schlacht" is German for battle, and during WWII, Germany used a lot of guns from occupied countries, so, maybe it's a Norwegian "Kongsberg Colt" used by the Nazis, or, without pics, maybe it's a Star Modelo B, and not really a "1911" at all?
"A grip safety is just another excess moving part. I have never known one to prevent an accident, and moreover, it is difficult to postulate a circumstance in which it might." Jeff Cooper

I don't think it is the Kongsberg. The slide stop is just like the Colt and it looks just like the Colt slide. I'll post pics quick as I can.
Right side just above grip is is stamped "Schlacht B NO. 4C-45-5 ". The slide has all the Colt patent stamping. It is 45 ACP. This was my fathers and I think he got it from a pawn shop in 1970's.
