Dedicated host for Nelson conversion

I've bought a Nelson .22 Conversion because I want a really accurate .22 on the 1911 frame, and I want the slide to lock back. I believe I want a dedicated host lower. I did an extensive search here, and lots of people have bought frames and assembled parts on them to host a .22 conversion. I believe I would like to do that. The 1911 I have now is incompatible with the Nelson.

I believe I'd like a stainless frame to hang the Nelson conversion on. I am troubled by the repeated mention at Brownell's of the frames they sell having oversize rails, and worry that they would not fit the Nelson conversion. The lowers that I have seen other people mention are not ones I would feel comfortable using. Has anyone used a Caspian frame for a Nelson conversion?

In the alternative, if someone could point me at a decent quality, compatible, already assembled lower, I would appreciate it.

"Oversize rails" is a feature, not a bug -- and essential if you are really after accuracy. Caspian's frames also feature oversize rails.

The reason is so that, if your side happens to be at the wide side of tolerances, you don't mate it to a frame that's at the narrow side of tolerances and end up with a loose slide-to-frame fit. Fitting a slide to a frame isn't an arcane art -- you can do it with a simple file from Lowe's or Home Depot. I haven't used a Caspian frame for a Nelson conversion, but I have used Caspian frames for several .45 ACP and 9mm 1911 builds. I did the fitting of the rails to the slides myself, and I'm not an expert machinist. But I do own a file ...

It's worth pointing out that, conversely to what applies to the frames, described above, most rimfire 1911 slides have rails cut with relatively 'generous' tolerances in mind, to fit as wide an array of available 1911 frames as possible. So if a tight Caspian [or any other] frame needs a bit of work to allow the rimfire slide to fit, I wouldn't expect the work needed to be too extensive. Probably...
