    What's Sig's Top-of-the-line 1911?

Hi Everyone, new to the forum. I am also new to the 1911 platform. Looking to purchase my first one in CA (I know it's a gun control state). I have a Sig 226 and I like the Sig 1911. What's Sig's top of the line 1911? How does it compare to the Springfield's TRP?

I like the Springfield TRP with the rail, but I'm not crazy about the match sights.

    Thanks
    mp

The TRP is from Springfield's Custom Shop. Sig doesn't really have anything that compares. The have several models that are comparable to the MC Operator which sits in between the TRP and Springfield's standard models. I have shot the Scorpion Rail model and it is a very nice 1911.

I really dig the Scorpion Rail and I have shot other Sig 1911's and shot very well with it having tight groupings.

Also, if you're not a fan of the Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish, the same gun is available in Sig's black nitron finish as the TacOps model.

I use a STX and its a very fine firearm. Also have a C3 for CC. Top of the line? My question is what is your line? Rail? No rail? Target? CC? Every Sig I have owned is a top performer.

Compared to others; I don't believe that Sig currently has a "top of the line" 1911.

I guess it is a matter of perspective. They have a top of the line in their own series of pistols. However, their series does top out at the point where Colt and Springfield really start to take off, so for 1911s as a whole, they are not the very top.

I won't comment about "top of the line" issues. However, I recently bought a sigsauer 1911 Target Full-Size. It is as good a pistol as either of two Colt Gold Cups that I have, or a couple of Wilson Combat pistols I have, or a high end Kimber, or even a full custom or two that I own. You can spend a whole lot more money for a pistol, but I highly recommend this Sig. It's an excellent pistol for a reasonable price.

I would agree that a sig is a awesome 1911. I have Dan Wesson, Colt, Rock Island and Sig.
