Is this Combat stainless worth it?

I have a chance to get a Randall Combat stainless for $595 CAD ($450 USD).
The question I have is that the guy says it has a repaired crack in the frame and I am wondering if it broke once is it going to do it again?

I have NO idea what it would be worth without the crack so don't even know where to start as an offer.
The only reason I want a Randall is that it's my given name so would be kind of cool.

I wouldn't touch that gun at ANY price. Period - and I loves my Randalls! Without the crack, you're looking at a $1k gun - but they're getting harder to find at that price.

Whether or not it might crack again depends entirely on how it was repaired, and how well it was repaired. And there's no way I can think of to determine that.

I've requested more pics of the crack and how it was repaired from the guy to maybe think about making him a lowball offer.

Not great pics so can't really see how it was repaired.
Even though I would love a Randall I think knowing there was a crack would drive me mental. Shoot. Check crack. Shoot. Check crack and repeat endlessly.

I would love to get it BUT I just can't get past the crack. If buddy dropped it to say $250 maybe.
Where I live (Google Norman Wells, NT) the only gunsmith is me and I don't have the expertise OR equipment if it cracks again.

I think you were smart. No way of knowing what kind of welder the guy that did the repair was - and the fact that you could still see the crack tells me that he wasn't interested in doing anything but get it out of his shop.
