Looks the same to me. Good for you for picking up on this.

I wonder if they'll bring back any other Para models ...

Same, Ion-bond finished stainless frame and slide
    Different grip safety
    Different trigger

Same everything else, externally anyway. Internally, the Para had a slide with a larger extractor tunnel, for their 'HD' extractor. I wonder if Remington kept it...

Para's website is still up, here's this model's page:
    http://para-usa.com/2013/firearms/elite/hunter.php

Compare the new and old grip safeties, where they meet the .250-radiused frame. IMO, someone didn't do their homework here: the old .250" safety is the not-so-raised profile used by S&A, EGW, Colt and many others. The new one is the raised .250" style, as used by Ed-Brown, STI and Chip McCormick. If you try mating a frame designed for the former, with a grip safety fitting the description of the latter, the result is a 'proud' frame on the underside of the cut. Worse, it could mean that when depressed, the safety allows the sharp sides of the frame in the rear to protrude and bite into the hand that holds the gun... a really bad idea, as shown in the picture below (taken from Remington's website).

You can see the underside of the .250" radius here. You can also see the side of the rear sight, which says "PARA-ORD'. I know because I have a Para with the same sight (made by LPA in Italy).

Personally I'm waiting to see what, if anything, they intend to do with the doublestacks. Those were Para's Unique Selling Point, as far as I'm concerned; single-stacks, in any slide length and caliber, can be found everywhere.

Of course the LDA models were a USP too but I'm even less optimistic about their revival.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

I see this as a good thing. There is one at my LGS I am really tempted to buy. That said, Remington will support the item, which can only be good news.

This is good news for people who enjoy 10mm. A couple years ago there was a Para LE Hunter at a LGS and I waffled on it for about a month and then somebody bought it. It was a little over $1.1K in the store. Hope to run into one of these and have a chance to look at it.

Late to comment but got to see one in person last week and it had the same horrible trigger as my para elite hunter. So I'm guessing they didn't change much
