    US 45 Army

    I have this holster, it has a ser. no. 7791466 on the back. the fixtures are brass and the belt thing is steel. any help would be appreciated, the 45 that was in it is a 1944 Colt , if that helps. I would love to know more history about this

    You have a late holster; 7791466 the "part number" for the holster. Some also have the maker name. Type "holster 7791466" in your search engine to see some examples. This link to a 1968 repair parts type manual pdf, search the pdf for 7791466. USGI pistol serials stop in the 2.7 million range.
