Very nice gun! To full appreciate it you have to remember that some of the parts on these early customs were made from scratch.
Long slides were often made by welding two differant slides together. The work was so perfect you can't even see the weld.

The frame does indeed look like it has a wide Gold-Cup trigger, fashionable at a time when people liked wide triggers and added wide trigger shoes on regular 1911 triggers.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

I like the Clark pouch. Mine didn't come with one. I find it funny that the vendor spelled Keithville (Kiethville) wrong. Im curious if the muzzle of your barrel has a reverse crown? Again, great pistol and also your good medical news. A win-win so to speak. Happy shooting!!

Thank you for your kind words. I always like to get the associated provenance and accouterments with a gun. I couldn't get a good picture of the muzzle, but I checked and it is not counterbored. I am really looking forward to going out and playing with it.

I finally took out my Clark heavy longslide to the range to see how it would shoot. I started out at 7 yards to start getting it sighted in. I used the old Winchester 185 grain .45 target load, and after a few shots I was really able to dial it in and watched as the shots started touching each other to make one big hole. The slide just seemed to glide back and forth. I'm not a great shot, but when I started shooting it one-handed at 25 yards I could see how this gun could make me look good. Was it worth waiting to find? You bet!

I've never seen that before. Also I'm wondering why the mismatched stocks? Herretts on the left side and OEM Colt on the right.
They are lovely pistols to shoot, I was shooting mine this morning. Could your pistol be built from a Gold Cup? On mine, I can just make out the slide marking under the "Clark" address and mine is a Government Model.
I found the build date "8 71" (August 1971). Hard to believe that after 45 years it still functions like the day it was made.

Thats great. They are very nice shooters. I'm curious about the Clark pistol rug that you have pictured. What type of material is in the interior?

The pouch is lined with fleece and closes with Velcro.
