Old Timer
Recently at our club's public range a shooter was firing a .22 CF bottleneck cartridge in a 1911. The size was near that of the old .218 Bee. The configuration was a rimless bottleneck with something like a 30 degree shoulder. The owner claimed 1800 fps. I was unable to learn the name but he said he purchased it in kit form from a commercial mfgr.
Can anyone identify the round and mfg of the cnov kit and where it can be founs?

It has been ten or more years since I read about the .22 Zipperer which is a 9x23 necked down to .22.

Perhaps the .224 BOZ.
I saw this first at Lewis Machine and Tool about 15 years ago. I think it is based on the 10mm case and then necked down to .224.
23.00mm case length, 64 degree shoulder measured from the case mouth.
15.825 to the body/shoulder
19.25 to the shoulder/neck
10.77 base diameter
QuickLoad calculates 1,836fps with 7.8gn of AA#5, 5" barrel pushing a Hornady 40gn Jet bullet #2210.
But I've never seen it in a gun or a conversion system for it. Every now and then some old guy talks about it.
