    Lightweight 1911 or Steel 1911

I am in the process of putting together a new 1911 Government Build. I am thinking of using either an Aluminum frame or a steel frame as the basis for the build. I am going to build this gun to shoot IPDA matches.

I have already built an aluminum full size 1911 I use to as a carry gun... Thinking the Lightweight would be good for competition especially for those long match times. I was also thinking that maybe a steel frame would hold up better to Major Power Loads which this gun will be fed a steady diet of...

    Could use some feedback here...

    Thanks

Major power factor .45 loads in CDP?
    Steel, all the way.

I have an aluminum framed 9mm that is a treat for ESP but would not want the recoil in CDP.

Lightweight for carry and steel for competition. I do not compete, my carry is a Colt Lightweight Commander 80S, range gun is a full size Colt.
