Any info about the STI "CHAMPION" 9mm ?

Only a week ago I bought a brand new "Trojan" 9mm yesterday afternoon a buddy offered me his STI "Champion" 9mm almost half price as says he hates 9mm.
Now I'm considering buying the Champion as well, I don't really know what to do.
I can't find much on the net about the Champion though, was the old name of the "Trojan"?
I only wanted some details about it.
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.

I think this model was dropped because it was basically a Trojan by another name... or the Trojan was only available as a .45 at first, the Champion being the equivalent offering in 9mm and .40S&W, until the two were amalgamated into one.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
