    USGI parts

I'm trying to get a definitive answer on this question, did USGI parts manufacturing cease in 1945, or did subcontractors continue production to ~1990?

The govt continued to purchase replacement parts into the 1990s. Latest barrel date stamp I've observed 1992, I believe. Checkmate produced 1911 magazines thru 1992 at least.
