    Recently Purchased 1911A1

I recently bought this AO 1911A1 from Cabela's. I'm really impressed with the fit and finish of this gun. So far it has performed flawlessly with Italian-made ammo and a variety of magazines. Chip McCormack magazines work as well as the magazine that came with the gun.

Did that gun come from the factory green, or is it an aftermarket color?

Came from the Worchester factory that way. It's a Cabela's exclusive from what I understand. The finish is a type of duracote and the color is called "Sniper Green". I wasn't looking for that particular finish but they were running a sale and I got a great price on it.

I had not either. It was the only one they had in the store.

I thought that it had been picked before it was ripe!

LOL. Actually, I have grown to like the color. I'm not sure how many of these are out there.

Far better than the blazed orange ones I've seen. Good thing you didn't leave it to ripen that long.

    I like that green color.

Mine is a cera-coat matte olive drab, and it looks great with WWII brown holster and GI web gear. It looks very close to original grey-green Parkerizing in these photos..
