    colt anviii custom build

This is a pistol I had Dave from Defensive Creations in Alliance Oh make some upgrades for me. I was trying to achieve a unique retro look with some modern touches. This included cut for sights which I went with heinie ledge night sights. Lower and flare ejection port, undercut the trigger guard, snakeskin the front strap, blend and install a Nighthawk 1 piece magwell, flush cut and reverse crown slide stop, and refinish in black nitride.
I was able to take her out to the range yesterday and a friend of mine helped me run 600 rounds through her in 40 minutes. We took turns one person shooting while another person reloaded an assortment of magazines including wilson combat etm, 47d, and 47dc, also one Nighthawk factory stainless mag. Only had 2 malfunctions which happened with the last round jumping the extractor on the last round with the Nighthawk mag.
With the pistol properly lubed to start we stopped every 200 rounds to add a few drops of oil, with no field stripping or disassembly. We shot at 8"steel plates ranging in distance from 12-20 yards and were able to achieve good combat effective double taps on steel.
She ran well and was nice and dirty when we were done.

    Just wondering . . . . .
Looks like a little powder residue near the front of the muzzle?
Or did she get a bit warm on you pumping that much ammo through her so fast?
Maybe the rain and cool weather kept her temperature down?
Was it all factory ball ammo or your reloads?

I must say she sure is purdy lookin' and another happy day was had at the range . . . . .
