    1911 folders at Bud's

Bud's Gunshop is offering four different "flavors" of the Remington 1911-R1 knife with 440C steel blades at $78 (plus shipping) or "make an offer". See:http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/a...tjai92&x=0&y=0 for details.

These knives were clearly built by Ultimate Equipment in Canada although they do not carry that name. The packaging and warentee say Remington's cutlery division. Bud's listing is confused - they do not have the proper descriptions on their site as of 6/27/14. Based upon the Remington model numbers, I was able to identify these four offerings, as shown below. My photos show the full-size black Titanium Nitride coated knife with rosewood grips that I purchased.

I do not work for Bud's (or anybody else!) - I'm just a retired guy who spotted a good deal and felt other members of this forum might like a 1911 knife at about 40% less than the current list price. I believe that there was once some business relationship between this site and Ultimate Equipment; I don't know if it continues today, but I doubt it. I note that the "front page" link to Folders-R-Us no longer brings up Ultimate Equipment knifes - instead it links to a Japanese site without any obvious products. In any event, I'm not looking to step on any toes here - I just wanted fellow members to be aware of what I think is an attractive offering from a vendor I know to be reputable.

    That's pretty cool looking.
I'll hold out for the Colt model though, lol

I have one of the Ultimate Equipment knives and really like it. Built like a tank and uses standard 1911 grips. I recently took advantage of a deal that Remington offered lately and purchased a Remington 1911 BB Gun that came with one of these knives for free.

Ultimate Equipment makes a good knife but their customer service leaves something to be desired. I have several of their knives and would have more but don't want the problems of dealing with them.
