    Shop-built illuminated sweep background

Sometimes it's interesting to illuminate a pistol's background from the underside. Here's a simple illuminated background sweep I built from scrap plywood and a 2x3' piece of acrylic plastic. It allows you to cast soft balanced light (from CFL's) on the pistol, then add a bright background area beneath the piece.

Nice work. Not quite a lightbox, but perhaps more useful than the latter when showing some details.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

The illuminated sweep works pretty well with stainless, too.
