Just got this beauty in for a customer today. Actually going to be sorry to see it leave! The fit and finish are truly fantastic!

Has Brown changed the way they make slide stops? This is new.

I don't think they have made any recent changes.

Well they certainly didn't look like that before.

If you showed me this slide stop on its own, I'd say it was made by Wilson.

EDIT: it IS new, along with their forged slide stop. Their slide stops used to be castings. I'd post a link to their site, but their links expire quickly... here's a picture, though:

Here's the information from the Ed Brown site.

    Forged Slide Stop
"An exact copy of our original slide stop design we have produced for decades, now fully machined from a forging. For positive, last round engagement and tighter, longer-lasting lockup with custom barrels. Attractive grooves for positive, non-slip application. Will fit all 1911 pistols High-Capacity types. Beautiful chamfered profile. Drops in most 1911's with no fitting. All versions are guaranteed for life against breakage."

    Ledge Style Forged Slide Stop
"Fully machined in house by Ed Brown Products from a forging for the ultimate in strength and longevity. Heat treated to perfect hardness for lifetime performance. Features serrated lever, .200 diameter pin, and a built in detent for easy installation. Beautiful chamfered profile. Drops in most 1911's with no fitting. All versions are guaranteed for life against breakage."

My recent purchase Special Forces is serial numbered just over 500 before this one and the slide stop is different. Not sure what that means, but it's different.

Neither my E.E. II or S.F.II, both about a year or less old, and with serial #'s in the low 14,000 range (and only 22 #'s apart), have the slide stop pictured in the first post.
