    Surefire yes or no ?

Actually was going to ask in one of the other older threads in this forum and I am unable to ressurect an old thread, basically would like to know if I should just go Surefire x300 for my Kimber and not look back or am I just fine with one of the less expensive alternatives?

While I would never mount a light to my gun, if this is for self defense saving money would be the furthest thing from my mind.

I have an X300 on my Colt LE6920 and it has been flawless.

I am not sure that I can agree with all other LEDs being a better value and just as good or better than a Surefire. I believe the Streamlights and Insight products are good alternatives to a Surefire.

Also check out Viridian for a good light and/or laser. Hands down the best combo I've owned. That said, I have a few surefires and they are great lights, but definitely command a high price.
