    Remington 1911R1 range report

Took my new 1911 R1 to the range today, with a variety of ammo. Federal white box Jhp 230, armscor Fmj 230, PMC bronze 230, and a 20 round box of hornaday zombie max 185 Jhp. Magizines were two 8 round colt, two chip McCormick 10 round, and the factory remington 7 round mags. Total fired rounds 320, one FTF with chip mag and armscor ammo. (Was my buddy's second shot and he was limp wristing it) noticed my trigger which was a bit sloppy out of the box got better, front white dot sight got smoked up towards the end. Overall great range time all the FMJ ammo shot a bit low, federal hollow points and zombie where dead on at 7yds, tore out bullseye with both. At 15yds the FMJs got better, still bottom of the bull with occasional flyer. Rapid fire was all over the place but still on paper. Overall very happy with the pistol and its seeming to get better as the break in period is now over. On a side note my buddy's pistol almost injured both of us with a catastrophic failure, I will never shoot next to someone with a Hi Point. As they seem to blow up in thier owners hands launching shrapnel everywhere. I know I mentioned a Non 1911 but I felt that experience should not go untold.

Finally got to the range. Needless to say it was uneventful. No failures but not as accurate as I had hoped. The RIA 1911 A1 CS actually out shot it.
