    Value of Volkmann Custom

I purchased a gun from Luke when he was the prior company. Do these still retain their value? It is still my best 1911 by far! It was my 40th birthday present to myself. I don't plan to get rid of it, just thought I would ask...

It is what it is, and IMO has the same value that it always had - possibly more as time moves forward - who knows?. If you had bought a Wilson Combat that had been built by one of the people who later went off and formed Nighthawk, it'd still be a Wilson and it'd still have the Wilson warranty. Since I have no experience with Volkmann, the thing that remains is what is the Volkmann warranty now? I suspect it is the same too but time and/or circumstance may or may not ever test that.

As long as Luke built it, I think it will hold it's value. You can tell by the serial number.

A good way to find out is to check with George at Gunslingers. Anytime I've talked to him he says he just can't get enough Volkmanns.
    Best Regards,

    Jeff

It was purchased as my 40th birthday present to myself. I spoke to Luke directly during the build and delivery. I want to order another from him to copy the one I already own. It is my favorite and will never get rid of it like I have my Brown and Nighthawks. Looking at ordering another custom pretty soon. I would like to try another brand to do something different but keep coming back to Luke. Not sure exactly where to spend my money. It may be with Luke...haven't decided...
