It depends on what year your PT 1911 was manufactured. I have read where some have had the Wilson Combat and the C & S extractors work, where they do hold the plunger in place. I am not sure which model years have had success, but i can research it and get back.

Yes. Go on the taurus web site and enter your serial number at the botton where it says "Find My Model".

The one that I ordered was the Heavy-Duty Extractor. Part # 965-101-080WB. I hope this helps.

My year of production was 2012.
My daughter and her husband shot it about 50 times Sunday. I stood about 6 feet away to the right of them and caught every case in the air as they shot. They were very impressed with the Taurus PT 1911. It will probably be their next purchase. The WC HD Extractor has made a world of difference in this gun and in my way of thinking about this gun. Thanks to everyone for their help with curing of my extractor problem......

    Glad you got lucky.

The couple of PT 1911's I've worked on for friends seemed to have quite a few variations from "spec."

It's still working after about 300 rounds. The new extractor really made the difference.
