    Thumbs down Light Advice?

After Aurora I finally got it through my head that Tom Gresham was right about carrying a tactical light. I see them in a wide range of lumen output and features. Let me give you an idea of what I think I need.

First about 90-120 lumens in as compact a package as is reasonable. Then I need it to be durable and to have a seriously disorienting strobe function. I WAS going to get a Veridian laser/light combo but that's a tad expensive and also I have no rail on my Raptor. Rather than spend $1,100+ on a new stainless 1911 with a rail and more on a new holster I feel I'd be better served at this time with a good hand held light. I am getting a Crimson Trace Master Series grip set that allows me to retain my ambi safety and Zlongje holsters have a "bump" cutout for laser grips.

So, assuming I have no brand preference and will go up to $250, what are your recommendations and what has been your experience with them?
