    Early Charles Daly EFS/FS

I'm new here and would like some comments on a early CD 1911-A1 EFS/FS I'm thinking about buying.
This a stainless frame and blued slide. Were there any problems with these early ones?It has the small rear sight instead of the Novak style I'm seeing on on a lot of this model on here so I assume it is a earlier gun.Did they use good steel and have good machining/fitting?
I have owned Colt series 70 and 80 and a Auto Ordinance in the past and currently have a Springfield Armory GI how will this gun compare in quality/function?

OK, here's the story on CD's

They were made by ARMSCOR, who make Rock Island 1911's among many other firearms.
Despite what you might see on several other forums, they are very well made, reliable, accurate and solid pistols, and they were IMPORTED by KBI and sold under their Charles Daly name. They are Rock Island 1911's with a different finish and name, and a CD prefix on the SN.

I have a Tactical CD for over 8 years now. It's the most reliable 1911 I have ever owned since the early 1970's...no matter what name is on it.

They are made of 3130 tool steel, many are shot regularly in competition with "good" name pistols and many of them win regularly.

Read some of the Rock Island posts here and the old Daly posts and buy them.

    You won't regret it.
