OD; that Adair job is a beauty. I feel very fortunate to also have one (1953 Gov Model). I think we're in a select group of owners of Adair restorations/refinishes of Colt O-frames. Unfortunately for me, I never thought to keep any documentation, which would be nice to keep with it.

My understanding is that ATF no longer will allow new serial numbers to be issued. This is based on the attached letter.Quote:

Well the ATF letter seems to confirm something that I though was OK, and that was to reaply the existing serial number if necessary, reblue, rust damage etc.
