Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.
Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued. IMPORTANT: In Photo-threads, each post should contain at least one picture of your own. Quoting a previous post, does not make your post compliant with that requirement. Photo threads are NOT for chatting. |

Buddy bought a Series 80 5"
No pics yet, but it's a 5", looks little-used.
Matte blue finish, brushed slide flats. Grips are stippled, not checkered rubber with silver Colt medallions. MSH is serrated black plastic. Factory Colt tall white dot sights. Checkered slide stop, serrated thumb safety seems smaller than my Series 70, and they both feel cheaper, almost painted feeling. Classic vertical serrations. Lowered (I think), not flared port cut for live round ejection. Long black serrated alum trigger. Barrel bushing has considerable slop between the flange and end of the slide, spring plug pushes it out a bit. Serrated mag release. Matte spur hammer. Interior of slide, frame, and barrel machining looks good, smooth like my Defender, not rough like my old '70. I think it would be a new roll mark 1991A1, maybe with some parts changed, not sure. |

Sounds like a O1991 Government.

That's what I figure, but the fit and finish of some of the small parts is kinda cheesy.
Grips looks like these but not wraparound. ![]() |

It was used, correct? Could be someone swapped out some parts.

I believe so. It almost looks like someone swapped out all the small parts for cheap ones and then sold it. Maybe they had custom parts installed and wanted to keep them. No big deal, I have parts.

Or the previous owner liked what he/she put in and now you can put in what you like.
