Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.
Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued. IMPORTANT: In Photo-threads, each post should contain at least one picture of your own. Quoting a previous post, does not make your post compliant with that requirement. Photo threads are NOT for chatting. |

Given the same gun to two people with different skill levels, can you tell who is the better shooter? I guess so. Given two different guns to two people with the same skill levels, can you tell who is the better shooter?
The point here is that both guns may or may not be good shooters depending on the people using them and how it was tweaked by a gunsmith. This gun versus gun thread will never end because of a hundred or even thousands of opinions that may come in. Your consideration will always be availability and budget in your part of the world.

pepe,
both guns belong to a common type M1911, both manufacturers have their recognition as to what it may be....i own an armscor yet have not encountered any problems with it almost two years now, in contrary a friend of mine owns a colt, but decided to do away with it..one thing also to consider is the aftermarket support, in which armscor has the advantage... |

Armscor has already a proven track record, but "niceone" is correct you got to tune both especially the shooter.

Imperial Defence Services is an outfit in the U.K. and their 1911's are made in Vietnam. Sometime ago, the pistols were recalled. The one's you now find in the stores (here in Manila) are apparently the "better" ones.
Nonetheless, I'd rather go (and have gone) for the Armscor-made pistols. ISO 9001 certified and exported to over 40 countries implies that the pistol is of a certain standard. I've examined the Ranger pistols and they ARE nice. But I've got an Armscor GI and not a Ranger. And many of you know why. ![]() |
