M-1911 Handed Down

My father just recently passed down an M-1911 to me. I was curious if anyone could give me any information about it. It currently has Bo-Mar sights and an Ithaca slide. The serial # on the frame is 917138. Also, I've attached some pics. Thanks.

Can't see the pics. Something about Yahoo I guess.

Sorry about that. Maybe this will work. I tried following the FAQ but they only let you join at certain times of the day.

The pictures are not of great help, but obviously this is a mix-and-match gun, customized by someone for PPC or bullseye shooting (heavy rib on top of the slide). What do you want to know about it?

Definitely a custom job. Back when surplus government issue 1911's were cheap and commercial Colt's were expensive and no one else made 1911's, such conversions were highly popular.
