How Radical is the 'Tactical' Option
I am going to be ordering a concept VII in the near future and am considering the tactical option where sharp edges are removed. It would be nice to knock off the sharp edges, but I do not want a gun that looks like an old bar of soap like some of the more radical 'dehorning' jobs. If you own a gun with the 'tactical' treatment, I would like to hear your opinion on this.

P-II with tactical option
My P-II came with tactical option, that was the way Sporting Arms had ordered it, it is not radical at all. If they hadn't told me in advance, I might not have noticed. of course I am a 'newbie', this is my first 1911, and I have never handled a 1911 that was badly in need of de-horning, so I'm not sure just how bad it can get. but this is a nominal cost option, go ahead and get it, it is certainly not a futuristic melted bar of soap look.
Ed Life has enough sharp edges as it is. |

Les Baer does just a nice Breaking of the sharp edges. Nothing radical.
Don't lose any sleep about it. I'm sure you will love it. Enjoy! |

After reading other post, I was also looking to order from Sporting Arms as their prices seemed very reasonable. When I went to their website, they had the concept VII listed with the tactical option and without it. Since it seems that it just involves knocking off the sharp edges I will try to get the 'tactical' one. Thank you all for your help.
