Amt
I stopped by the gun shop the other day, I was minding my own business, just a quick stop to look around, innnocent and void of any thoughts of buying anything. But, I found this at a price that was just up free. I couldn't resist. I guess the hit and miss with this gun dropped the price, it's a pretty nice one, seems to work fine,

If you get a good AMT (AMT/IAI/Galena) then keep it. Unfortunately, a great number of their pistols left the factory with problems, sometimes the problems could not be fixed.

Stans, that's what I've heard, I knew I was taking a gamble, but when I saw it at the shop I just couldn't see anything wrong with it, The price was so good that I had to give it a try, I guess I got a good one, I can't say that it is my all time favorite 1911, but it's pretty decent, Maybe having one that works makes it rare enough to be a collectors item
then again maybe not. |

Amt
I see you live in Texas. You didn't happen to pick it up in Tomball/Magnolia area
I had to take a Hardballer back to a gun shop 3 times and finally told them to trade it out for a Browning HP. |

No Sir, I got it north of Dallas, This one seems to be a winner, BTW I'm a texas transplant from New Mexico, I'll be heading back to New Mexico soon, I really love Texas, it's a long story but I'll never honk at another Texan once I get back to NM. BTW I didnt honk too much in the first place.

We'll see.BTW: A bunch of my family just got back from The Eagles Nest and brought back pictures of the Rio Grande Gorge. Complete with car wrecks on the bottom and everything.

That Rio Grande Gorge has gotten a few folks, It's a big enough drop to make somebody want to at least learn how to fly, it's a long drop............. Did they make it to the Viet Nam Memorial in Angle Fire? That is a spot that will make anybody cry. it's just beautiful. You can hit the mountains and sit by the stream or you can get real dry down south. Next time you are up in McKinney, stop by and check out this junker AMT, it seems to work okay.

There is a Viet Nam Memorial up on a hill near Angel Fire. I'm ashamed that I can't recall the man's name that built it. His son was killed in Viet Nam, he used the insurance money from his son to build a chapel, it is something else, I met the gentleman that built it, he just wanders around the place, almost like he's hoping to see his son, it shake's me up to think about it. They have a memorial and a chapel and a visitors center, it's probably the most quiet place on the planet, lots of "too much" stuff there.

AMT Hardballer
I picked up an AMT Hardballer in stainless a number of years ago and didn't have any problem with it while it was still my new friend. Adjustable sights and a rather nice trigger. I guess I got a good one. It was in the area of $200, but as I said, that was a couple of years ago. I have no complaints.
