Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.
If you want to ask questions about after-market parts, these questions should go in the "Parts Bin" forums, not in these forums. Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued. |

Manual for Series 70
I have just recently purchased a Colt Government Model IV/series 70. Unfortunately, I did not receive an owner's manual with the purchase. Is the series 70 basically the same as all other Colt 1911's?
This is my first 1911 and it seems to be different than any other semi-automatic pistol I've dissassembled. Therefore, does any one know how I can obtain an owner's manual, either by downloading from the internet or by purchasing one. Thanks. |

Normally you can get one from the manufacturer's website. As a side note, www.danwessonfirearms.com has a downloadable owner's manual that should be compatible with your Colt. (and don't forget to look at www.m1911.org in the tech area).
Good shooting |

Call Colt at 1-800-962-COLT. They will send you a manual for free.
