Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.
Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued. IMPORTANT: In Photo-threads, each post should contain at least one picture of your own. Quoting a previous post, does not make your post compliant with that requirement. Photo threads are NOT for chatting. |

dirty harry,
probably you got confused with the markings on RIA, my answer is that, yes its true RIA are made by armscor, but it is not owned by armscor...its is owned by another person/party who owns the Twin pines branches of gun stores here in the philippines. Categorically speaking RIA are owned by twin pine co., but are manufactured by arms corporation of the philippines under an exsisting contract.....hope i was was able to answer your question... |

Not quite
![]() RIA is just a brand-name. Twin Pines is a company that owns that brandname, among others. Armscor won the manufacturing subcontract for Twin Pines' RIA. Armscor also later won the US distibution contract for Twin Pines' RIA. Twin Pines had initially gone to IMBEL for manufacture, but there were problems. Not IMBEL's fault, BTW ....and not Twin Pines'. Twin Pines had also earlier tested SARCO for US distrib... but there were problems as well. Twin Pines is controlled by the Topacio family of the Philippines, and their core business is pistol retail. They are the Philippine reps for S&W and a few other 'foreign' brands. |
