Very good review, Hunter. As always, lots of pics and a detailed explanation of what you did.

Great presentation for the case feeder. Makes me want one. This article will probably push me toward the new toy, just like your great work on the LNL AP. You are terrific.
Thanks |

How long does it take to change everthing from say 45acp to 9mm? You said that it required changing the shell plate, V-block and case drop tube. I was thinking of getting one, but if it is a hassle to change everything I'm not. |

How tall is the feeder from the top of the bench to the top of the case hopper? I've been thinking about getting one of these but I'm a bit height restricted.
You said you saw a 30 to 40% increase in output. I can do 400 9mm's an hour now easily and 500 if I push it a bit. Did you really pick up over 100 rounds an hour? The price of one of these almost enough for another 4,000 bullets so the increase has to be "worth it". Can you remove the whole feeder or deactivate it to go back to manual case feeding for a caliber change? I load almost nothing but 9mm because that's what I shoot in USPSA Open division. I do shoot .45 for fun at the indoor range but 500 rounds lasts me a LONG time so buying the extra parts to be able to use the feeder for those wouldn't be cost nor time effective. As always... Thanks Hunter!! ![]() |

The case feeder I evaluated is 37 3/4" from the top of the bench I have my press mounted to (that would of been good information to include in the review huh?
). I did see a 30% to 40% increase in my production loading .45 Automatic though I go a little slower than you. You can deactivate the case feeder pretty easy (just a matter of taking the slide off the sub plate but if you wanted to take the whole case feeder off it would take some disassembly and I imagine when you reinstall it there would need to be adjustments made). The only extra part you would need for the case feeder would be the case feeder plate for large pistol cases if you decided to use the feeder for .45 Automatic. For me it is worth having because when I go to the range or a match I like to take a lot of rounds with me and I usually put off reloading until the night before so the savings in time is nice.
