This is the proper forum to use for troubleshooting, gunsmithing and refinishing questions.
If you have a problem with your pistol, this is the proper forum to ask for help. Before you do post your question though, you may want to have a look in the Gunsmithing Sticky Threads sub-forum, in here. We have collected several interesting articles in there, which can probably answer a lot of your questions. |

tuning an ejector
Can the ejector be tuned to eject brass in different directions? I have a colt Defender thats ejecting brass towards my head, sometimes hitting me on the forehead or my cap. I have a Wilson Combat bullet proof extractor in it thats been tuned. Does it have to be done by a gunsmith or is it easy enough for a person to do it himself? Is there another thread that might explain how to adjust it?

Hi
Assuming the ejection port is lowered, the next step is to take a look at the tuning of the extractor. Once you have checked that move on to the ejector. The extractor has a lot more influence over the brass than the ejector. Bob |
