Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.

  • If your pistol malfunctions and you want to ask for help on how to troubleshoot it, post your question in the "Gunsmithing and Refinishing" forum, not in this one.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market parts, these questions should go in the "Parts - Grips" forum, not in the manufacturers forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market magazines, these questions should go in the "Magazines" forum, not in these forums.

  • If you want to ask questions about conversion kits, those questions should go in the "Conversion Kits" forum, not these forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about which ammo to use with your pistol, those questions should be posted in the "Ammo" forum, not these forums.

Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued.

I just picked up an EFS on the 12th and am very pleased with the fit and function. Though the grip on the right side has a bit of interference with the ambi. Mine must be a bit older as it came with Mecgars, and has the stainless hammer. I've been shopping 1911's for a while, and am quite pleased with my choice. I really think I got more value, than I paid for. I am also very impressed with it's accuracy.

mnhornet,

Thank you for your response.
In spite of my "on again-off again" shooting abilities, the Charles Daly EFS performed well with the rather limited ammunition I had available. Nonetheless, it is a very accurate 1911, and I was quite pleased with the fit, finish, and function of the gun.

I hope I can shoot that well when it's in the 70's and sunny. Great detail on the photos and commentary.

Great job Steve on the very through review.
Michael Kassnar was very nice to me in Vegas and I believe he has the companies best interest at heart.
You really did a fine job covering the Charles Daly EFS pistol

Thanks Hunter!
I appreciate your kind words, and I'm also happy you were able to meet Mr. Kassnar.

Did you get your CED replacement parts yet.

Steve the new sky screens came in the mail shortly after Hawk had left. I sure was glad he was the one who shot the support and not I.
I had hit one in an earlier test but luckily I just winged it and a little electrical tape made it all better.

Excellent and honest "No holds Barred" review with the mention of the slight cosmetic imperfections as the tool marks .

Hopefully it will help in putting to rest the negative comments from people who have all of their information second hand from a friend of a friend and so on when it comes to foreign made 1911's .

I don't know about everyone but with Sub 3 inch groups that were fired without a Ransom Rest at 25 yards I can live with a few minor machining imperfections that effect nothing .

Just an FYI I have a Wilson video on the 1911 where they compare a stock Colt Gov to a Wilson built Gov size weapon in a Ransom Rest at 25 yards , the Daly's groups were right up there with a Wilson gun that sells for 5 times as much .

While Hunters Sig line is correct in saying if it ain't a Colt it's a copy , an Armscor made 1911 is one heck of a good copy and the Daly's are the best of the bunch .
