Anyone here attended a course there? If so, how were the facilities and instruction?

Disclaimer: The information I am about to give is anecdotal. I have not personally attended. However, this info came from vetted LEOs and trainers who have "seen the elephant" and I know well enough to trust their word. YMMV.

John Benner's team at TDI is top notch. They know what's up, and can convey that to the student. You will learn skills that can save your life someday. Recommended without hesitation.

Facilities never came up in our conversation. Frankly that's not an issue for me. I personally will settle for a porta-john and a lean to shelter if the instructors are squared away. Some of the best instruction I have gotten was on a small self-built range on the back 40 of the instructors property. And by the same token there are instructors at places that bill their facilities as "Six Flags over Tactical Town" that I wouldn't let load my mags.

Go for the training. That's what you are paying for.

Haven't been there personally, but the instructor from whom I've taken several classes has, and had much good to say about them. I've been trying to access TDI's website (www.tdiohio.com) for the past week with no success. Anyone know why?

I took a Concealed Carry class there a few years ago. Primary instructor was Dave Spaulding. This was a very good class, Spaulding is great and the other instructors were very good as well.

John Benner and his team do a great job. The facilities are good and certainly provide what is needed. These guys live, work and train for the real world. Everything was straight, explained well and demonstrated. The instructors shot and did the demos which not how all schools do it. At the same time they didn't function in a manner that insisted that their way was the only way or offer some antiquated outlandish method. Again, straight forward and very practical.

Only downside was the limited lodging and restaurant facilities but this certainly take anything away from TDI. Just get you lodging arrange ahead of time. Perhaps some of this has improved since I was there.

I would go back again for any of their classes without hesitation.
