Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.
Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued. New to Me DW Questions
Hi all. I just joined up here after purchasing my new to me Dan Wesson. I'm a long time handgunner, but I'm mostly a Sigaholic, this is my first DW, although not my first 1911.
I haven't yet received my new pistol, and I've been trying to learn more about it (I traded away one of my Sig 229's for it). Its a Dan Wesson PM3, but I can't find any info about that particular model on the DW site, or on here. The serial number is the initials and birthdate of the previous owner, is this a common thing with DW guns? Can you just request to have that done? The gun looks great in the pics I've seen, and it it shoots as well as I anticipate, I think it might become my new carry gun. I love the Sigs, but I just shoot 1911's a heck of a lot more accurately. Anyway, thanks for having me here, I look forward to becoming a member of this community. Any advice, info or tips you have regarding the PM3. |

DW will make the serial # what you specify (as long as it is unique). It sounds like you have an earlier Pointman. Sorry I do not have the specs on it. Some of our people may have info on it. If you should need a user's manual, you can get that directly from DW (in .PDF form) on their web site.
Congrats on you purchase and welcome to the club!
