Well done review. nice pictures and particularly good on the dis-assembly part...since I don't own a 3".

It worked and appears accurate...that's good for a 3 "incher".

I like they way they undercut their frames and the color scheme...much better than a "light" colored slide and dark frame, which never made sense to me...functionally.

Looks like they have a "contender" in the field of small 1911s.

Cocking serrations look "off-centered" from the grips. It looked odd to me, but maybe the two-tone causes that, so to speak. I've never been "big" on STI cosmetics, logos, rollmarks, etc, but this one doesn't look bad.

I'd bet they sell some of these.

Thank You!

My thanks to all of you for your positive comments.
Occasionally, we testers receive guns that surprise us. I was pleased with almost all aspects and features found in the new Escort. The accuracy and reliability of the weapon represent all I could have hoped for.

Excellent review. In fact, it finally got me to register-- I've been lurking for some time.

Like tombstone above, I too have been looking at the 3" 1911s, specifically the Colt New Agent and this STI Escort. I'm packing a SA XD40 with various mods as my CCW and have been looking for something a bit smaller and easier to conceal as a quick "grab and go" when running up to the corner store or gas station and this might just fit the bill! Also, being a born and bred Texan, I like the fact that the STI is made just down the road from me and if purchased from Brazos Custom, I'd simply ad their "High Performance Package" and never look back.

Again, great review and keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the great review and pictures. Like my fellow Texian above, its nice to know we some nice ones being made in the Republic! Like you untill lately I had been negetive on small 1911's but am currently carrying a Kimber UC pre Swartz and am very happy with it. Your review will make me look a little closer to home if I ever feel the need of another 1911!
