I really do not have any experience with the Briley. The reasonableness of price depends on the Model. http://www.briley.com/index.asp?Pag...ATS&Category=64 The NIB price of $1,750 is for the Advantage Model. If that is the Model in question, it should bring a bit lower price of $1,300 or $1,400. If it is from a private party or an FFL with a range ask to shoot a 100 rounds through it to assure proper function. Then make a lower offer. If the seller won't budge and you really like the gun and are willing to pay the $1,500, buy it an enjoy!

Thanks for your response rich-d.The Briley that I looked at was marked Versatility,it was a commander size, but on the web site they say it should be a full size pistol. It's the first Briley I've seen in person,it seemed to be a very nice gun with a great trigger,.but I was looking for info about their work.I liked what I saw in the pistol,he had a like new Les Baer hardball gun so I bought it for $1200 because I knew what I was getting with that gun.Now the Briley is still stuck on my mind, but not sure if it is something worth having. Thanks again for respdnding.

My Briley
I recently bought a Briley Versatility in Houston. To say I couldn't be happier, is an understatement! The gun is well made with all match grade parts and it shoots like a dream. My pistol is a commander slide on an officers frame. I too picked it up in the store and couldn't get it off my mind, so my wife made sure that wasn't any longer a problem. The frame and slide are Caspian steel parts, which really helps control recoil. I can put five shots into a quarter, off a rest, at 15 yards. I am familiar with Briley shotgun products and figured their pistols must be high quality as well. It was definately a risk I am glad I took.

Thanks jfrey,
I had read about Briley some years ago, about them making barrels and other custom parts for 1911s,never knew they made complete guns until I saw this one.Sounds like they build afew custom 1911s and sounds like they are well built. Thanks again for posting.
