i am going to shoot a 25 yard bulleye tonight and was wondering what the best way for a good fast zero is

I shoot a mag full, see where they hit and compensate my aim. All mine are fixed sight. I will drift the rear if needed and not too extreme.

I use a bench and sight mine in for 1" high at 25 yard. I start at a closer range of 10 to 15 yards to rough in the sight setting then move out to 25 yards.

The best way for a good fast zero is slowly.

I've always used a 6:00 hold for bullseye with the black floating on the front sight and I find lighting and fatigue make a big difference and lots of things make a small difference. I like all black - carbide lamp black - for bullseye and I'll start rested two hands and confirm from a legal one hand bullseye stance with notes on lighting, fatigue, booth number and a myriad of other factors. When the call matches the shot I trust the zero. Notice that carbide black makes for a dirty sight and I suppose it pays to clean well and reblacken as necessary. Notes make it possible to adjust sights as necessary between indoors and outdoors and according to ranges and targets and ammunition with final adjustments by foot position and small cranks.

For a carry gun match I shoot POI=POA with some adjustment for distance but my carry gun is a 9X23 and shoots pretty flat.

I stand in an ISO stance and shoot a mag into a group at 15 yards. POA/POI should be right on at this range in a defensive weapon. Since they are fixed sights the math on the dove tail cut depth must be correct the first time.

thanks guys i got her in there for the 25 yard match. and it seems like it shoots flat so i think i will just be leaving the sights where there at for 25 yards and closer

Most of my guns are fixed sights,and seem to be fairly on the money.I see where the hit and compensate as needed.As Cheester stated above,may drift the rear sight ever so little as well.
