Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.

  • If your pistol malfunctions and you want to ask for help on how to troubleshoot it, post your question in the "Gunsmithing and Refinishing" forum, not in this one.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market parts, these questions should go in the "Parts - Grips" forum, not in the manufacturers forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market magazines, these questions should go in the "Magazines" forum, not in these forums.

  • If you want to ask questions about conversion kits, those questions should go in the "Conversion Kits" forum, not these forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about which ammo to use with your pistol, those questions should be posted in the "Ammo" forum, not these forums.

Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued.

PT1911 - Factory equipped night sights

I saw a 5" blue PT1911 with factory equipped Heinie Straight 8 night sights today in a local shop.

This shop is typically high and their price was $699.

While doing a search for a friend, I checked Gallery of Guns....None available.
Buds Gun Shop.....none,
However www.gunbroker.com has one on a buy now @ $569.00 plus $30 shipping, plus your FFL's fee between $25 & $50 = $649.00 max.
Make him an offer of $649.00

I was posting just for information. This appeared to be a new variation and wanted to make it known.

I have two earlier PT1911's and have a set of Heinie Straight 8 Night sights that I plan on installing on one of them.

Taurus also offers Crimson Trace on their PT1911 as well. It looked to cost $200 more than the regular version, which I think is a bargain for CT. I will be ordering a sest of the Heinie NS today.

I am waiting on the new night sights from novak, I prefer the contrast of a green front and a orange rear or vice versa.

I talked to my dealer last Saturday and he had PT1911s on route with night sights. They should have been in this past Monday or Tuesday. Still no sign of the Stainless Steel version.

I find the green to be brighter than other colors offered for NS. The green seems to last longer as well, IMO.

As far as the SS version...I think you will be waiting a while for those to be released. Why not just buy a blued version and have it hard chromed or DIY project and refinish the pistol?

Well, I will be holding off on the Heinie NS for a little while longer. Last week they wanted $125 for the sights, now they want $150. I thought that $125 was a bit high for NS, but figured they were the only game in town. On Heinie's site, there is an option for the rear notches. I figured for $150, I might as well just order the CTC or wait a few months til other companies offer NS for the PT1911.

On 4/11, I first posted the prices in another thread at $125.90 for the Straight 8's and $140.90 for the 3-Dot.

Those prices are still correct.

Go back to Heinie's site...there is a +$25 for the rear sights....they are offering two different sizes. When you click the buy it now...it adds the $25 to the regular $125 for the straight eights. I don't need NS that badly to pay $160 shipped.

I emailed Heinie on Friday and I'm awaiting their reply on the pricing.
