1911 slides

i need help finding a 1911 slide. i want to build a 1911. i would like a colt slide or other name brand. does anyone know where to get one at a decent price. also are the parts kit that include a slide from sarco any good.

Brownells have all kind of Colt slides. Long or short. I think they also have Springfield slides too, if you want brand names. If this is not very important, I am sure you can get Caspian's.

You could also try www.e-gunparts.com

I do not know about Sarco, but I bought a "refurb" kit from www.sportsmanguide.com, and was disappointed. The "New or like new" advertised parts were not. The slide was a used and abused Brazil slide that I did not feel would be safe to use.

Go with quality parts. But the part once. I have tried to save money by buying inexpensive parts, only to have them break, not fit, or wear out too fast, which meant I had to buy another part.
