There is a section on this forum where you can report stolen firearms. Also might I suggest you look at the various auction sites and see if it shows up on them
www.auctionarms.com www.gunbroker.com www.gunsamerica.com good luck...

With a WMK serial number that has to be one of the WW2 replicas. There aren't a lot of those around ... Colt only made 4,000 of them. I seriously doubt that it's going to show up on a site like Auction Arms or Gunbroker. It was probably stolen by some gang banger, who may think it's "cool" to have, or who may trade it off for a Glock.

All you can do is what I expect you already have done -- hit all the gun forums, for sure, but that's not where it's going to show up. It's going to show up in some police department's evidence room after a drive-by shooting or a drug deal gone south. If he hasn't already done so, your fiance should contact as many police departments around Baton Rouge and New Orleans as he can. Since gang bangers don't typically carry WW2 Colt 1911s, any officer who sees one should alert on it ASAP.

May I politely say (I know I am rubbing salt in the wound) to gently suggest to not keep a weapon in his car, especially one with sentimental value. That is one of the things thieves look for in a car first..........

Some contact details, like for example the police dept where the stolen gun was reported would be useful, if someone was to spot this one.
