Installed Wolff Spring

Since no one markets a mag spring for my Llama sub compact [double stack 10 round] I bought a Wollf spring for a P-10.P-12 its a +10% It appears to be a little long. When test fired it feed every round but failed to complety lock up .Had to push slide last 1\4 in each time. Is spring to strong? Should I start cutting coils hopeing I hit right spot. This is my play and learn gun as Iam now retired on disability and can t really do much .
