Need help Identifying
I would like to buy this Sistema, but I am not sure as to what model it would be considered, under the BATF C&R. Please refer to
http://northeastshooters.com/vbullet...ad.php?t=13220 For pictures and a better description of what the problem is. Thank You Tom |

Guess
Hi
My *guess* is that it's ok for C&R since it's a "listed gun". The Yugo SKS's are all much newer than 50 years old, but since they are listed by name they are ok. Anything (almost) is ok if it's >= 50 years old. Stuff that is newer than that is ok if it's listed. There is a bunch of stuff on the list that got there for a variety of reasons. Some of it was well over 50 years old even when it was added to the list. Bob |

Argentine D.G.F.M. (FMAP) System Colt Model 1927 pistols, marked "Ejercito Argentino" bearing S/Ns less than 24501.
Argentine D.G.F.M. - (F.M.A.P.) System Colt model 1927, cal. 11.25mm commercial variations. This is how they are listed on the BATF website....

Assumption
Quote:
Hi I am assuming that the pistol is the second one in the listing, since it does not have the military markings on it. Bob |

I find it interesting that they have limits on the military contract pistols, but not on the commercial models...

The crest usually signifies a govt sale but possibly to a small agency or small enough order to not justify making a dedicated roll stamp. Also possibly an over run pistol sold commercially or perhaps an over run slide used for a commercial sales.
