I have had my CQB for several years and it is just starting to show wear in the muzzle area. The good news is that even though the coloring may be gone, the Armor Tuff is still protecting the steel from rust and corrosion. Absolutely no issues with that.
The hard chrome and Diamond Black finishes definitely will wear better but they are also more expensive to apply. The spray on finishes are a good compromise between cost and durability. Plus you can choose from several colors and if you get tired of the color you can always change it if and when you decide to refinish the gun again. Any finish that still protects the gun even when it appears to be worn off is a good finish... and Armor Tuff does that.

What gunslingers stated is spot on. I can only give an example of how my CQB's finish is wearing. I'm a LEO and I have carried my Wilson for approximately 5 years in a Safariland 070 holster as well as several different kinds of concealment type of holsters. I can't count the number of times the pistol has been drawn and reholstered on duty as well as off (I'm an avid shooter).
The pistol's finish has worn around the muzzle edges. The pistol has been wet, dirty, bumped, cleaned a zillion times, rolled on and still looks good! I am pleased!
